Hi all,
RESULTS
Each and every one of you offer-holders should have just received an email from Martin regarding accommodation at Peterhouse, and what to do regarding your exams results this summer. If you didn't receive this email, please email Martin at slo@pet.cam.ac.uk (after checking your junk mail).
STAFFING/COLLEGE TOURS
Kathy will be away from the office for all of July and August, so Martin will be your main point of contact from now on. You can contact him on any of the email addresses you have already been using, as he has regular access to Kathy's email accounts too, but please bear with him if his responses take a little longer than usual, particularly over the next couple of weeks as he will be running the Open Days then. If you didn't get to see the College properly when you came for your interview (or were too nervous to take in the surroundings properly!) you are welcome to come along to one of these Open Days and join a College Tour to get a feel for your future home! The College will be open 8.30-5.15 on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd of July, and there's no need to book in advance.
WEBSITE
Finally, in case you haven't done so already, make sure you check our offer-holder pages on our brand new College website here: www.pet.cam.ac.uk/information-applicants. If you have any feedback, either on what's already on there or something you think we should put up for future applicants that would have been helpful for you to know in advance, please do let us know!
We hope you all have a good summer, and wish those of you who are waiting for your results the very best of luck :)

Out of office
Hi all,
Just to say that Kathy and Martin will be out of the office next week, so we won't be able to answer any questions or open any emails or post until Monday 1st June.

New website!
I am pleased to announce that the Peterhouse website has been updated to an
exciting new layout. There is more information than ever about what it is like
to live and work at
Peterhouse and on the opportunities available. There is also a dedicated
section for offer-holders,
outlining the various dates and deadlines you should be aware of. As we get
closer to October, the website will also be the route through which we collect
information such as your accommodation preferences – I will email a link to a
webform in July. We have also added an FAQs
page and information
for parents and carers.

Supporting Evidence for Financial Guarantees
Hi all,
A lot of you are submitting your Financial Guarantees without the supporting documents required. This may be because our form is a little unclear. On page 2, you are asked to fill in a box describing the intended source of your funding, and you must provide relevant evidence for ALL of this, including any parental funding or similar. For most people, this
will involve sending in a copy of a parent's bank statement/savings account
and/or a letter from their employer stating how much they earn per month/year
or a copy of their P60/tax statement. Please remember to submit such supporting documents, as your Financial Guarantee will not be approved without them.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Kathy

Offer-holders: What to do and when
Hi all,
This is a note for all our current offer-holders. Included in your letter you should have received lots of forms to return either to us or to another Department or similar. Below is a summary of some of the key deadlines, and some top tips/common errors for filling in the forms. The deadlines are listed in chronological order, and some of these won't apply to you, but please read all of the below and whatever you do DON'T leave it until the last minute because some of the forms can be quite complicated or require input from a parent or teacher.
Cambridge Overseas Trusts
If you are eligible for this (only available for Overseas students) then you will have received an application form in your offer letter, as well as via email. If you would like to apply for this, please submit your application form to admissions@pet.cam.ac.uk by Friday 13th February.
Choral Awards
If you are interested in applying for a Choral Award, the deadline is Sunday 15th February and more information (including an application form) can be found here: www.study.cam.ac.uk/undergraduate/apply/musicawards/choral.html
Visa
If you live outside the EU/EEA then you may need a visa in order to come and study in Cambridge. If this applies to you, please email admissions@pet.cam.ac.uk to let me know by Friday 20th February. More info can be found here: www.cam.ac.uk/international-students/arriving/uk-immigration
Instrumental Awards
If you are interested in applying for an Instrumental Award, the deadline is Friday 28th February, and more information (including an application form) can be found here: http://www.study.cam.ac.uk/undergraduate/apply/musicawards/instrumental.html

asked to provide us with certificates of every qualification declared on your
UCAS application. If you have a Conditional Offer, please send us copies of your AS and GCSE certificates
(or equivalent). If you have an Unconditional Offer, please send (by
recorded delivery) your original A
level certificates (or equivalent) - we will return these to you once we have
checked them. The deadline for all certificates is Friday 8th May.
Financial Guarantees
All
Along with your ‘FG’ forms, you need to submit evidence that you either have enough savings or enough future income to cover the whole amount stated on the form, for all three/four years of your course.* For most people, this will involve sending in a copy of a parent's bank statement/savings account and/or a letter from their employer stating how much they earn per month/year or a copy of their P60/tax statement.
*[Note that you do not need to prove that you have more than three years of funding if the additional year(s) are optional, i.e. for Maths, Computer Science, Natural Science, Engineering and Medicine. Evidence for four years of funding is only required for AMES, MML and the 4yrs Classics. But please also note that if you are applying for funding for your course (whether it's to Student Finance or another external body) you should apply for the maximum number of years that you are likely to be on the course.]

Home
Home students must submit their FG
forms by Friday 8th May. If you are not applying for a student loan,
remember to enclose a letter stating that you believe yourself to be eligible,
but will not be applying. All other Home students must include a copy of the
letter from Student Finance confirming that their application has been
successful (we don’t need you to send us your application, just the
confirmation). If this doesn’t arrive by the deadline, you should still submit
your FG, including a letter stating that your Student Finance document will
follow.
Overseas
Overseas students must submit a
completed FG including supporting documents by Friday 17th April.
Reply at UCAS
Remember that if you would like to accept the offer of study that we have made then you must do so via UCAS. The deadline for this will vary depending on where you are in the world and whether you have heard back from your other institutions, but if you don't respond on UCAS then you will Decline the offer by default - so don't forget!
Accommodation
(Not really a deadline but
something to be aware of) - Martin will be in touch in mid-July with details on
accommodation. Please make sure you have access to your email (even if you’re
on holiday) at that time so that you can observe his deadlines.
Finally, as always, if you would
like confirmation of receipt of post then please include a stamped and
addressed postcard for us to return to you - I'm afraid we don't have time to
email you all confirmations every time we open the post. If you don't hear from
us, please assume everything is in order.
Thanks, and congratulations!

Closing for Christmas
Hi all,
The Admissions Office is now closed for Christmas, and will reopen on Monday 5th January. We will be putting decision letters in the post on 9th January but if your application has been put in the Winter Pool then you might hear from another Cambridge College before that date (probably on the 7th or 8th) if they wish to invite you to an additional interview in January. If you live outside the UK we will email you the result of your application on Monday 12th January. If you haven’t heard from us either way by Tuesday 13th, please email us to let us know and we can send you the decision by email. In the meantime, try and relax and enjoy the break!
Bear in mind that this timeline is specific to Peterhouse, so if you have friends who have applied to other Colleges then the above may not be true for them.
Happy holidays!
Kathy & Martin
