Technical blips...urgh!

As many of you will know, this is the first year we've used electronic applications here in Cambridge.

What's supposed to happen is that the information on your application goes from UCAS, via a couple of portals, and straight into a computer at the College you have chosen.

What's actually happened this week is...it hasn't! It worked just fine last week but, with the final applications all coming through in a rush, it hasn't worked quite as well this week. Let's just say, we're working on it. It's annoying but not insurmountable.

Obviously, if you've heard from me, we have some of your data but, if you have friends who are waiting to hear from Colleges, this may be why. We may not have all applications into our system until at least next Monday. However, there is still lots of time to write to you and to sort everything out so do reassure your friends that they don't need to worry. We will write to everyone eventually!

In the mean time, half-term is a great time to do some background reading. In my experience, most applicants know they should do it but only about a third turn up for interview having done anything about it so, get a few books under your belt (or newspapers or science articles) and you will already be head and shoulders above the competition!
