When are the interviews???

I know lots of you would like to know when your interview dates are, especially if you'll be booking flights to come to Cambridge, whether that's from New Zealand or Scotland (two options so far!).

This is why we can't let you know juuuust yet.

At Peterhouse, the Admissions Tutors between them manage to attend an interview with every single candidate (we have an Arts AT - Mr Mandelbrote, and a Sciences AT - Dr Jackson).

We interview for two weeks non-stop, 8 hours a day, and they can only just fit everyone in so the interview timetable is like a complicated jigsaw and can only be finalised once we have the EXACT numbers of applications in for each subject. That doesn't happen until the 4th week in October once we've had our allocation of Open Applicants.

At that point, I e-mail everyone I think will need to book a flight and let them know the date at least of their interview so they can start booking flights. Then we allocate individual slots and get those letters out.

I hope that explains it.

One thing you should note though is that you will almost certainly get an interview. We interview at least 95% of our UK applicants (and most of the overseas) and only deselect a few, usually in medicine and architecture which are the most over-subscribed. So, assume you have an interview unless you hear otherwise.

Interview dates this year could be any time from 1st - 19th December but most are after the 8th.
