I just thought I'd send a quick update on what's going on as I have had a few queries from you.

Firstly, let me list pre-interview requirements by subject in case you haven't received your confirmation letter yet.

Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic (ASNC) - 3 school essays
Archeaology and Anthropology (Arch and Anth) - 3 school essays
Architecture - a written project
Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (AMES) - 3 school essays
Classics - 3 school essays
Economics - a set essay
English - 2 school essays
History - 3 school essays
History of Art - 3 school essays
Law - 3 school essays
Linguistics - 2 school essays
Medicine - BMAT
Modern and Medieval Languages (MML) - 4 school essays
Music - 3 school essays
Natural Sciences (Biological) - 3 school essays
Philosophy - 3 school essays
Theology - 3 school essays

If your subject is not in the list then you are not expected to submit any work before interview. Please remember that every applicant needs to complete the SAQ by 22nd October. The deadline for essays is 2nd November. I know many of you are worried that things will not reach us because of postal strikes; please do not panic! We will accept essays up to 9th November in extreme cases but please try to get things to us as soon as possible. Also, I should clarify that if it is not clear which Natural Sciences course you are applying for from your A Level choices then you will receive subject slips for both Physical and Biological; please ignore the one that it is not relevant to you.

Secondly, we are starting to draw up an interview schedule so it is vital that you let us know as soon as possible if there are any dates between 4th and 18th December that you are unable to come to Cambridge for an interview (unless you are already being interviewed abroad). Our admissions tutors interview every applicant and our interviewers are extrememly busy people so it is very difficult to rearrange interviews. It is for this reason that we can only consider those with exceptional circumstances. We hope to notify those invited for interview about dates and times at the beginning of November.
